Domestic abuse: How you can help.

Every 9 seconds a woman is battered in the U.S. 1 in 4 women are abused. That equals 1.3 million a year. Domestic violence occurs in 60% of marriages and is the most unreported crime. 50% of abusers abuse their children as well. These statistics were pulled from The Riley Center website about domestic abuse statistics. This year Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) has seen victims of more brutal violence than ever before. Abusers are becoming more brazen and clients are expressing more fear due to the escaladed death threats made against them.

March 12th Lotus Salon will be hosting an open house to kick off their domestic abuse fundraiser that will run until April 30th. Make a $10 donation and receive a recipe book filled with great dishes from staff and clients. They will also be hosting a cell phone drive and food drive.  From 4pm to 8pm take advantage of amazing product sales, free gift certificates when you bring a new friend to Lotus Salon, meet the makers of their product line, a new and exciting product launch, door prizes, appetizers, and more.
